Virgil "Junior" Tollison drafted the Tollison Creed in the 1920s. He was a former Pentecostal minister from the American South. He rejected the lassitude of the Westminster Creed and the ritualism of the Monachal Creed. It remains almost exclusive an American creed.

Best known for their white robes, followers take a personal approach to their beliefs. They reject the hierarchy and the clergy-laity dichomtomy. Instead they refer to all Sanctified, regardless of rank or status, as Brother or Sister. They have strict feeding rules, never feeding on members of the opposite sex, children, drunks, druggies, or married mortals. Although they do not preach any prejudice, they remain mostly conservative, lower-class, straight, white men.

Although they avoid most rituals, there are two rites that are so universally practiced among the members of the Tollison creed that they have almost become signatures of it: the Fire Dance, and the Rite of the Serpent.

The Rite of the Serpent is superficially similar to practices observed among the more radical Pentecostal churches in the rural United States. However, wherein human practicioners hold poisonous snakes in their bare hands in order to prove their faith, Damned worshipers drink vitae from a poisoned mortal in order to provoke visions. The type of poison used in the ritual varies from congregation to congregation, with rattlesnake or copperhead venom being most common. Some ritualists also like to use Curse of Babel on the participants as well, invoking the 'speaking in tongues' aspect of the mortal ritual.

The Fire Dance, on the other hand, has no mortal correlation. It involves the construction of a huge bonfire, amidst fervent prayers and platitudes to God. Once the bonfire has been lit, the participants take turns leaping over the fire in intricate displays of athletic prowess. In some areas, the more difficult the jump, the more prestige the Sanctified earns for participating. Losing oneself to the Beast out of fear is considered a failure of faith, and the frenzying vampire may face harsh repurcussions from his or her congregation.
